Assessment and testing are now considered an essential tool for learning
and progression as well as a way of monitoring performance.
As a result, teachers often have to select or write tests for their students,
whether as part of the end of year summation or throughout the year to monitor progress.
Across the different sessions, we will consider how three important principles of assessment:
validity, reliability and impact, relate to fairness for both the student and the teacher.
The participants will have the opportunity to see how these principles operate in practice by evaluating examples of assessment tasks.

They will also have the opportunity to write some tasks at different levels.
This workshop aims at helping teachers respond to this question:
What makes good assessment and testing practice?
OBJETIVOS To raise awareness on the importance and consequences of any assessment,
to understand their impact and to put the results to good use
To share the principles of good practice in assessment and testing to inform and improve their teaching practice and student learning.

To give teachers the tools and confidence to evaluate different types of tests and to develop their own assessments.

To provide teachers with the opportunity to develop and discuss assessment
instruments for different language skills (receptive and productive) and for different functions (formative, summative, diagnostic) which are relevant in their context.
METODOLOGÍA Active and participative.
